Harrow Weald Lawn Tennis Club (HWLTC) was founded in 1901, and is owned by its members.
Our Club has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with regular investment to provide the best facilities possible for its members, including floodlights on all of our five courts, mini tennis lines on one court and ongoing improvements to our social hub - the HWLTC clubhouse.
Located in Harrow Weald, Middlesex, HWLTC has an active weekly tennis schedule, including tennis for all membership types and visiting tennis players.
The Club has Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) status, which gives it a similar status to charities. It is run entirely by volunteers and has no paid employees.
The Club is a members club and is non-profit making. All of the funds that the Club receives is used to maintain and improve the facilities of the Club for the benefit of its members.
Following the refurbishment of our hard court (Court 5) in 2007, Elena Baltacha - Great Britain's best female player for three years - visited our club, along with Harrow Mayor Janet Cowan, and opened the new court. After her first visit, Elena accepted our invitation to become our patron. We were very sad to hear of Elena's death in 2014, and we continue to communicate and hold events with the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis (EBAT), giving the children of each community the chance to compete and to honour our late patron's legacy.
